Get useful email intelligence from day one.
Follow these four steps after installing InboxIQ. You’ll connect your sending data, verify the foundation, prepare lifecycle stages, and know exactly what to review first.
STEP 01
Connect your sending provider
Choose the provider that sends your marketing, workflow, and transactional email. InboxIQ begins collecting new events as soon as the connection is verified and can import up to 30 days of history when your provider makes it available.
| Provider | What you need | Check before connecting |
|---|---|---|
| LC Email | A GHL account with verified LC Email domains | No API key needed. Stats are provided for every domain connected to the account. |
| Mailgun | Private API Key + sending domain | Use the private key and the exact domain you send from. |
| SendGrid | API key with Stats read access | Limit access to only what InboxIQ needs. |
| Postmark | Server API Token | Use the server that sends the email you want reviewed. |
InboxIQ reads sending and engagement data. It does not send messages or change provider settings.
STEP 02
Confirm your sending domains
InboxIQ finds sending domains in your event data and checks SPF, DKIM, and DMARC. Start with authentication issues on domains carrying active campaign traffic.
Green
The essential record is present and valid.
Continue monitoring.
Yellow
The record needs review or may not align cleanly.
Compare it with your provider’s DNS instructions.
Red
A required record is missing, invalid, or failing.
Correct it before judging performance.
Gray
There is not enough evidence for a result.
Confirm the domain is sending and allow more data to arrive.
Prioritize by recent sending volume. A red result can undermine deliverability, but it does not prove an inbox-placement issue by itself.
STEP 03
Turn on engagement staging
Choose the contact field where InboxIQ should write each person’s current engagement stage. Your existing filters, workflows, and sunset logic can then use that field.
InboxIQ writes the stage and supporting evidence. It does not enroll contacts, remove tags, change subscriptions, or send sunset emails.
STEP 04
Read your first week
Allow seven days of normal sending before making meaningful changes. Use available history for context, but treat your first complete week after connection as the initial baseline.
Review in this order
- 01Provider breakdown
- 02Delivery, bounce, complaint
- 03Open, click, reply
Do not diagnose reputation from open rate alone, and do not increase volume to a weak audience simply to generate more data.
Setup complete. Keep the baseline honest.
Keep sending normally during the first week, then use the provider breakdown and lifecycle views together before changing your audience or cadence.
